How long do my logs last?

For the life of your account. Every log you file is banked permanently, and each day is sealed overnight into a tamper-evident daily record. A log from two years ago is just as findable as one from this morning — that's the point. Your logs are the project's memory, and memory that expires is worthless in a dispute.

Does SiteLog work without cell signal?

Yes. Capture is built offline-first: every log saves to your phone the instant you hit file, whether you have signal or not, and syncs automatically the moment you're back in coverage. Basement pours, elevator shafts, remote sites — log like normal and let the app worry about the connection.

My daily report email never showed up. Where is it?

Ninety percent of the time it's one of two things:

1. Junk/spam folder. Check there first and mark it "Not junk" so the next one lands in your inbox.

2. Your company's email security. Corporate mail servers often quarantine automated mail from senders they haven't seen before — and you'll never even see it in spam. Ask your IT folks to allowlist the sitelog-ai.com domain. That one request fixes it permanently for everyone at your company.

Can I edit or delete a log after I file it?

No — and that's deliberate, not a missing feature. A daily record that anyone can quietly rewrite is worth nothing when there's money on the table. Because logs can't be altered after filing, your record carries weight with owners, architects, insurers, and lawyers.

Logged something wrong? File a new log stating the correction ("Correction to this morning's log — the delivery was 40 yards, not 60"). That's exactly how paper daily logs handled it for a hundred years, and it keeps your record honest.

How many photos can I attach to one log?

Up to 5 photos per log. Shooting a bigger condition — storm damage, a full punch walk? File it as multiple logs. Logs are free, fast, and searchable; there's no reason to ration them.

How do I ask my logs questions?

Open the Vault and ask the way you'd ask a person standing next to you: "any crane problems," "how many urgent items this week," "what did the inspector say," "show me photos from Tuesday." No special syntax, no exact-word matching — asking about "damaged glass" finds the log that says "scratched pane."

One thing to know: answers come only from your logs. If your logs don't show it, SiteLog tells you that instead of making something up. It's your record speaking — not an AI's imagination.

Is there a limit on Vault questions?

You get 30 questions a day, which resets at midnight. In practice almost nobody hits it — but if you do, counts and lists (like "show me this week's urgent items") are unlimited because they don't use AI at all.

I run multiple jobs. How does that work?

Every log files to the job you have selected — tap the orange project pill to switch. Each job keeps its own logs, its own daily records, and its own Vault, so asking about "the slab pour" on Job A never drags in Job B's slab.

How do team accounts work?

Invite your supers by email from the dashboard, assign each one their jobs, and their assigned jobs are waiting the first time they sign in — zero setup on their phone. Their logs roll up into the same permanent record.

What happens to my logs if I drop my phone in a footer?

Synced logs live safely in the cloud, not just on the phone. Sign in on the new phone and everything is there. The only logs at risk are ones captured offline that haven't synced yet — which is why the app syncs the moment it sees coverage.

Do I need permission to record on the jobsite?

Sometimes, yes — and it's on you to know when. SiteLog is designed for your own dictated logs: you talking into your own phone about your own work. That's what the mic button is for. But recording laws vary by state — some states, including Florida and California, require every party to a conversation to consent before it's recorded. If other people's voices could be captured in what you record, get their consent first, or step away and dictate your note solo. You are responsible for complying with the recording and privacy laws that apply where you work. When in doubt: say what you saw, not what someone else said.
